Speech contests are a Toastmasters tradition. Each year thousands of Toastmasters compete in the Humorous, Evaluation, Tall Tales, Table Topics and International speech contests. Competition begins with club contests and winners continue competing through the area, division and district levels. The International competition has two additional levels — semifinal and international.The Speech Contest Rulebook Understanding the rulebook makes your participation in speech contests a positive learning experience. You can also download the rulebook for free or purchase a printed copy through the Toastmasters online store.  

Planning a Speech Contest Speech contests are public events that require careful planning. Refer to Conducting Quality Speech Contests (Item 218e) to help you prepare. Speech Contest Materials The Toastmasters online store has a variety of other materials — like judging forms and trophies — that you’ll need to carry out a fun and professional contest. Be sure to acquire necessary materials well in advance. Free copies of speech contest materials are also available to download through the Toastmasters Online Store .
